Your Guide to Luxury Dog Boarding

At K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel Stamford, we understand that leaving your dog while you're away can be a big decision. That’s why we provide a safe, comfortable, and luxurious boarding experience for your furry family member. Below, we've compiled answers to frequently asked questions to help you feel confident in choosing us for your pet’s care.

General Boarding Information

What is dog boarding?

Dog boarding is a service that provides temporary housing for your dog while you are away. At K9 Resorts, we offer a luxury boarding experience with cage-free accommodations and premium care to ensure your pet is comfortable and well cared for during their stay.

What makes luxury boarding different from traditional boarding?

Unlike traditional kennels with concrete floors and metal cages, K9 Resorts offers cage-free luxury accommodations, including spacious Luxury Suites (8’x8’) and Executive Rooms (5’x7’). Each option comes with a Kuranda dog bed, premium Blue Buffalo Sensitive food, and all-inclusive activities to ensure your dog feels at home.

How should I prepare my dog for boarding?

To make the transition smoother, we recommend bringing your dog in for daycare before their stay. This helps them get familiar with our environment and staff, reducing anxiety and making their experience more enjoyable.

Safety and Supervision

Is there staff present overnight?

While we do not have overnight staff onsite, our facility is equipped with video surveillance, a central alarm system, and a fire protection system to ensure your dog’s safety throughout the night. Our staff is present from approximately 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM daily.

What vaccinations are required for boarding?

We require the following vaccinations:

Rabies

Distemper/Parvo

Bordetella (Intranasal “Merck Nobivac Intra-trac3” preferred)

Canine Influenza (Bivalent version preferred)

Some locations may have additional vaccine requirements, so please check with us before booking.

Do dogs need to be spayed or neutered to board?

No, but if your dog is participating in daycare during their stay, they must be spayed or neutered by 10 months of age.

Personalizing Your Dog’s Stay

Can my dog board if they don’t get along with other dogs?

Yes! As long as your dog is 100% people-friendly, they can stay with us and enjoy individual play sessions with our staff instead of group play.

Can my dogs board together?

Yes! Dogs from the same family can stay in the same accommodation, and additional dogs receive up to a 20% discount. However, if our staff feels it’s in their best interest, we may separate them for safety reasons.

Will my dog get enough activity if they don’t participate in daycare?

Absolutely. Our accommodations are all-inclusive, so whether your dog prefers all-day group play or one-on-one attention from our staff, they’ll receive plenty of exercise and engagement at no additional cost.

Food and Belongings

Should I bring my dog’s food?

We recommend using our premium Blue Buffalo Sensitive diet, which is included in your dog’s stay and formulated for dogs in a boarding environment. If your dog requires a special diet, you can bring your own food for a small additional fee.

Can I bring my dog’s bed or toys?

Bedding: For hygiene reasons, we do not allow personal fabric items. Our cage-free accommodations include a Kuranda bed, and our compartments come with a comfort mat.

Toys: Only rubber or plastic toys are permitted. We do not allow fabric toys, rawhides, or anything that could be a choking hazard.

Can I bring treats for my dog?

Yes! You are welcome to bring treats from home, and we will only provide your dog with treats that you have supplied.

Communication and Visiting

Can someone visit my dog while I’m away?

We advise against visits during your dog's stay. Dogs tend to think they’re going home when they see a familiar face, which can cause unnecessary stress and disrupt their adjustment process.

Do you have webcams so I can watch my dog?

We do not offer webcams, but our staff is happy to provide updates via phone or email upon request.

Reservations and Policies

How much notice is required to cancel or change a reservation?

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required when booking, with the full balance due at checkout. If you need to cancel, your payment will be applied as store credit. Cancellations within 72 hours of check-in during peak season incur a $200 cancellation fee.

What if I need to pick up my dog early?

That’s no problem! Just notify us in advance so we can prepare your dog for early departure and ensure a smooth checkout.

What happens on holidays when you’re closed?

While our lobby is closed for drop-offs and pickups on certain holidays, rest assured that our staff is onsite 365 days a year to care for your pet.
