A Camp-Inspired Experience for Dogs Nationwide, Featuring Themed Weeks, Enrichment Activities Designed to Stimulate Mind and Body, and Classic Summer Traditions

Berkeley Heights, NJ (May 29, 2026) – Summer camp isn’t just for kids anymore. This season, K9 Resorts, a premier dog boarding and daycare destination with 48 locations nationwide, is giving dogs their own version of the classic summer experience. Expertly designed for dogs of all sizes and personalities, the eight-week Summer Camp will run from June 16 through August 6, with activities taking place every Tuesday and Thursday. Think sports week, arts and crafts, and even a camp photo day – just reimagined for dogs. Pups can even earn camp-style badges for each week they complete, giving pet parents a fun keepsake to track their dog’s summer achievements.

This innovative program transforms traditional boarding and daycare into a dynamic, camp-inspired environment with themed activities that promote exercise, mental stimulation, and social connection. The curriculum was developed in collaboration with K9 Resorts’ Wellness Advisory Council member and dog behavior expert Fernando Camacho, ensuring each activity is rooted in canine behavioral science and enrichment practices. From agility courses and nosework games to creative play and calming wellness sessions, each week is thoughtfully structured to balance energy, engagement and rest – so every dog not only has fun, but returns home happier, healthier, and more fulfilled.

Highlights of the eight-week series include:

Week 1 – Treasure Dig Adventure: Designed to activate a dog’s most important sense, their sense of smell, adventure week features sniffing activities that encourage dogs to tap into their natural instincts through digging exercises.
Week 2 – Canine Cardio Sessions: Created to get dogs outside and moving, the Canine Cardio Sessions include playful activities like fetchand movement-based toys to help pups release energy and enjoy physical exertion.
Week 3 – Nosework Games: Dogs will build confidence and problem-solving skills by engaging with objects such as cones, cups and boxes to find hidden treats.
Week 4 – Arts & Crafts: Perfect for dog parents who love displaying keepsakes, pups will enjoy a mini canvas lick-painting session, creating their own unique masterpiece to take home.
Week 5 – Agility Course: Created to engage both the mind and body, sports week features a structured obstacle course, including cones, tunnels, and ramps for dogs to navigate and build confidence.
Week 6 – Relaxation & Wellness: Zen week was designed to create a spa environment for dogs, featuring one-on-one calming sessions with brushing, petting and gentle care, as well as soothing music and relaxing aroma scents. Dogs will return home feeling relaxed and calm.
Week 7 – Camp Photo Booth: A true summer camp staple, picture week will include a photobooth session with props and a backdrop and a take-home portrait for pet parents.
Week 8 – Bubble Dance Party: The closing festivity of the summer camp series, a bubble dance party, gives pups the opportunity to celebrate with music, bacon-flavored bubbles, dog-safe ice cream, and open indoor and outdoor play time.

Each canine camper is closely monitored by trained staff members to ensure a safe and positive experience. Personalized attention and customized activities ensure that every dog – from energetic puppies to laid-back canines – enjoys Summer Camp at their own pace.
