Dog Behavior Requirements
Dogs boarding with K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel must be 100% people-friendly in order to stay with us. We reserve the right to refuse services based upon a dog’s temperament or health condition. This is for the safety of all our guests and staff.
The following vaccinations must be up to date and verified by documentation from your veterinarian:
- Distemper/ Parvo Virus
- Canine Influenza **
*We strongly recommend that your dog receives the Bordetella vaccine intranasally. We also recommend the Bordetella vaccine administered every 6 months, but will accept it every 12 months.
** We strongly recommend that your dog receives the Nobivac Canine Flu Bivalent version of the Canine Influenza vaccine. This version will maximize the effectiveness of the vaccination for the protection against the Canine Influenza strains H3N8 and H3N2. This vaccine is required at most locations - please contact your local K9 Resorts to confirm.
Your treasured companion will feel even more special after being bathed with luxurious human-quality Les Pooch premium dog shampoo, imported from France. To ensure each guest goes home clean and fresh, a dog bath is required (without exception) for any guest staying two days or more. Medicated and Hypoallergenic shampoos are available at no extra charge, upon special request.
We serve all of our canine guests nothing but the finest cuisine, at no additional charge. Overnight residents are fed premium Blue Buffalo dog food. We strongly recommend using our house diet, Blue Buffalo GI as this specific blend of Blue Buffalo served at K9 Resorts is a special “sensitive stomach formula” that is ideal for dogs in a boarding situation. However, if your pet has food allergies or requires food from home, we are happy to serve it. Please prepare each meal in the appropriate serving size, place each one in a separate Ziploc bag, and write your last name on the labeling section. Please note that a small handling fee will apply.
For our dog daycare guests, K9 Resorts does not feed meals during dog daycare services in an effort to keep the safest and most enjoyable, full day of play for each dog daycare guest. If your dog requires specific feedings for medical purposes during the day, please inquire at your local Resort for more information on this policy.
Reservation & Cancellation Policies
Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strongly recommend providing notice as far in advance as possible to ensure availability. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of reservation and the full balance is due on the day your pet arrives. Please note that all deposits are strictly non-refundable.
In the event of a cancellation, your deposit will be applied to your K9 Resorts account as a store credit. No refunds will be issued. We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and Cash. We also require a current credit card number to be kept on file at all times.
During June, July, August, and major holidays, there is a five-night minimum stay for our cage-free boarding. This only applies to our Scotch Plains-Fanwood location.
Belongings from Home
We will happily accept a few plastic or rubber personal items from home to accompany your dog in their accommodation. In order to maintain a safe and sanitary environment, we do not permit any bedding, blankets, fabrics, or other items from home. We provide comfortable and sanitary Kuranda dog beds for our pet guests to enjoy or you can even upgrade to a Premium Dog Bed for extra comfort.
